One By One

One by One
Galatians 6:9 - “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Ten little Parishioners standing in a line;
One disliked the Pastor; then there were nine.
Nine ambitious Parishioners offered to work late;
One forgot the promise; then there were eight.
Eight creative Parishioners had ideas, good as heaven;
One lost his enthusiasm; then there were seven.
Seven loyal Parishioners got into a fix
They quarreled over projects; then there were six.
Five steadfast Parishioners wished there were more;
One became indifferent; then there were four.
Four cheerful Parishioners who never disagree:
‘Til one complained of meetings; then there were three.
Three eager Parishioners! What did they do?
One got discouraged; then there were two.
Two lonely Parishioners – That wasn’t any fun.
One joined a sport’s team; then there was only one.
One faithful Parishioner, feeling rather blue,
Invited next-door neighbor; and then there were two.
Two earnest Parishioners each enrolled one more,
Doubling their number; then there were four.
Four determined Parishioners just would not wait,
‘Til each won another; then there were eight.
Eight excited Parishioners signed up sixteen more.
Give me a few more verses - there’ll be a thousand, twenty-four.
II Thesalonians 3:13 - “But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.”
Matthew 5:14 & 16 - “Ye are the light of the world”..............”Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which art in heaven.”
If we, the Christians, don’t invite the unsaved in to partake of God’s love and forgiveness, who then shall? “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem , and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8.
