DON

written by: Jay Driskell

His name was Don - a personal friend from many long years - a man of GOD, but didn't realize it. He simply went through life being Don.

His last days were a real lesson in the understanding of the Love of GOD to and through man for the benefit of mankind.

Don was a strange, spiritual person, rather a loner in life. He had good times and times that were not so good.

He reached out to very few people, but those he reached were influenced favorably.

He was a thinker. He read and studied deeply. His was an understanding far beyond what is considered to be normal. By most religious standards, he was doomed to Hell because his understandings were not what current religious standards dictated. In reality, his knowledge went far beyond what most of the current religious standards could accept, far beyond the concepts of Heaven and Hell. He reached to GOD.

He was a quiet man who would go unnoticed on the streets, yet his last days were a glowing, radiant experience for all who were privileged to behold him. The inner glow which radiated from his face and from his eyes made the Heaven/Hell controversy a totally unbelievable impossibility. His last days were spent in grand expectation for he knew that he was soon going to totally understand the greatness behind his understanding of life and of spirit. He was to experience the totality of GOD, and he knew it.

Don was a teacher, but didn't realize it. His life was a vibrant expression of what mankind should be. He influenced but few, but influenced them greatly. His name will remain unknown, but his influence is immortal.

The message of Don's last days is that you and you alone must do what is best for you in your own personal situation in life. Others can only give you their understanding, but it is up to you to find your own way and understanding in life that will be applicable for you.
