I MET AMERICA TODAY written by: Aubrey Moses I met a Marine today!
Friends and family by his side;
Engrossed in love and prayer I would say.
Perhaps thinking of inward waves he may ride.
I met a Sailor today!
American flag tattooed boldly on his arm.
Professions of patriotism and faith even in harms way.
A warm handshake and an "Anchors Away".
I met Ahmad today!
Egyptian born, American by choice.
His lapel adorned with Old Glory,
Heartfelt fears heard in his accented voice.
Love of America; just part of his story.
My Nephew may leave today!
Proudly dressed in Army green.
Trained in battle, like no one else,
Lastly would be thoughts of self.
Family, blood and lives at stake today!
Unselfish heroes continue to pave the way.
Sharpened talons will soon strike,
Still to be unleashed, this awsome might.
"I'll die for God", Stated with an angered heart;
War to which they have given start:
Unholy wars will be judged as well;
Their choice, Heaven or Hell.
