The Sky Zoo written by: Helen Dowd The Sky Zoo
To children of all ages, who still have an imagination.
I love to lie in long green grass,
and stare into the sky.
I love to watch the fluffy clouds
that come a’floating by.
A kangaroo is hopping ‘round,
her joey in her pouch.
A baboon (or an elephant)
is sitting on a couch.
Next thing, I see a puppy dog
who’s running from a pig.
He bumps into a tall giraffe
who’s reaching for a twig.
I blink my eyes a second.
And "Poof!" That picture’s gone.
But, quick. There comes another one:
two kids upon a swan.
They’re gliding on the fluffy clouds,
the whole world’s sailing by.
I lie there wishing I could be--
up there in that big sky.
I’d look down on the dizzy world,
‘twould be like one big zoo.
I’d laugh at all the silly things
that people-critters do.
