What Does Love Mean?

A group of professional people posed the question, “What does Love mean?” to a group of children, aged 4 to 8.    Here are two of their answers:

“There are two kinds of love: Our love and God’s love.    But God makes both kinds of them.”

“God could have said magic words to make the nails fall off the cross, but He didn’t.    That’s love.”

“LOVE - agape (ag - ah - pay).    Noun-- meaning ‘love’.    It can be used to denote a person’s love for God (John 5:42; I John 2:15);    God’s love for humanity (Romans 5:8); and God’s love for Jesus (John 15:10; 17:26).    Jesus reveals His love for believers by laying down His life, and He commands that believers love each others. (John 15:9-13). A cornerstone of the New Testament teachings about God is that ‘God is love.’ (I John 4:8, 16)” {Taken from p. 228 of the Open Bible. NKJV}

Love is also the gift God gives to us to pass on to others.
